Financial resources of the chamber will be given as credit

Torbalı Chamber of Commerce, stopped the construction of the Congress Center Project which started in beginning of this year. The chamber is going to use all of its financial resources as a credit to its members due to the decision made by the chamber council. “We will look after our members and become their life support” said the president of the chamber.

The Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) started again to give “Breath Credit” worth of 6 billion Turkish Liras to SME’s for the 7th time. Torbalı Chamber of Commerce (TCC) Council decided to distribute all its financing as a credit to their members. Within the scope of the project, businesses with an annual turnover of less than 3 million liras will be able to use a credit of 50 thousand liras with an interest rate of 7.50 percent, and there will be no principal and interest payments in 2020. Our members who received the credit will pay back in 12 equal installments in 2021. Denizbank Torbalı Branch Manager Sezgin Yaylı has signed a protocol with Council President Erkan Aksoy and Torbalı Chamber of Commerce President Abdulvahap Olgun. Olgun stated “We have stopped the project which we’ve started in the new year due to coronavirus. We will use all our financial resources as an insurance to the credit. We’d like to thank to our council members who gave us the authority, TOBB President Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu and to Denizbank.”

Noting that members who will apply for credit should obtain an activity certificate from the chamber or e-chamber system, Olgun said “The only condition in breath credit is that the annual turnover of the member must be below 3 million liras, no other condition is required. Our members can apply to Breath Credit by going to Denizbank branches with the activity certificate they receive from the chambers.”

TIME TO TAKE INITIATIVE

President of Torbalı Chamber of Commerce Abdulvahap Olgun, who explained that they have stopped the construction of the Congress Center with 300-350 people capacity on the 5th and 6th floors of the chamber service building where Izmir’s economy and trade meetings can be held, has also said “At the beginning of the year, with the authorization we received from our council members, we started to make a congress center in our service building. But like the rest of the world our country economy is seriously affected by the coronavirus. We’ve established a crisis desk and are actively in cooperation with our members and other institutions. Everyone is working with great devotion. As a chamber we take initiative in all subjects during these times. From distributing provisions to those in need, to taking care of elders’ needs we are sensitive on every subject. We work together with Torbalı District Governorate in all matters, from the permit status of the gas stations, the distribution of bread on the streets, to the distribution of food and other needs from market and the restaurants especially for the 65-year-old citizens. Our members’ work permits during curfews, supplying masks, delivering all economic problems and expectations to the Ministry and TOBB, we are keeping track of everything.”
