Olgun: We never stopped working during the outbreak

Torbalı Chamber of Commerce (TTO) President Abdulvahap Olgun, who accelerated his work with the onset of the normalization days after the pandemic process, said, “We did not stop our work with the crisis desk we created with the start of the pandemic, and our work will increasingly continue in the new period.”

Torbalı Chamber of Commerce President Abdulvahap Olgun, who started his chamber meetings and workplace visits again after the normalization days started after the 3-month pandemic process, made evaluations about the work they have done since the first coronavirus case was seen in our country. Stating that they do not stop working during this period, Olgun said, “As Torbalı Chamber of Commerce, we shouldered responsibility during the pandemic process. In this period, we used the facilities and possibilities of our chamber for both our members and our citizens.
As part of the social aid ring of the Vefa Support Group of the Torbalı District Governorship, we provided food aid to citizens aged 65 and over and 1500 families. As a result of the increasing demands and the contributions of our members, we increased the number of food aid we provided to our citizens to 2000. In order to provide better service to the people in Torbalı, we have ensured that our markets provide takeaway, fuel stations serve during the restriction days and we organized the sale of bread with our chamber’s members. We supported our barbers, cafes, restaurants with by giving masks and disinfectants.”

WE STAND BY OUR MEMBERS

As TCC, emphasizing that their members take initiatives in the pandemic period as in every subject, Olgun said, “We have made efforts for our members to benefit from the supports within the scope of the Economic Stability Shield that our government explained at the beginning. We announced every incentitives and possibilities to our members in purpose of easen the damage. We immediately forwarded the requests to our crisis desk to our TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and the relevant ministries. We stopped the 400-seat Congress Center project, which we started building on the 6th floor of our chamber at the beginning of the year due to coronavirus. We offered the financial source of the chamber to our members as a loan guarantee.
We provided mask support to our businesses with 10 or more employees. On the days of curfews, together with our Torbalı District Governor, Mr. Ercan Öter, we distributed work permits to our companies, which are essential for the continuation of supply chain ”
